About Me
Hi there! Welcome, and thank you for choosing me as your swim instructor! A little about me: I am from The Woodlands, TX and moved to Los Angeles after I graduated from Texas A&M in 2015. I have been around the water my entire life. I was on a competitive swim team throughout my childhood and later worked as a lifeguard during high school and college. I competed in statewide water rescue competitions and lifeguarded for two Ironman races from a kayak! After moving here, I took my passion for the water and began teaching swimming to kids of all ages and even adults!
I maintain certifications in infant, child, and adult CPR, First Aid, and AED through the American Red Cross. My top priority is to keep my students safe and confident in the water, so my curriculum has a huge focus on water safety.
Everyone learns differently. Some students may be comfortable from the beginning, but many will start out uneasy. If I'm teaching a student who is timid or scared, I'll take the time to make sure they are comfortable before moving forward. I work to help my students overcome their fears, so I challenge them to try things they might be afraid of at first. I do this because I love seeing my students go from not wanting to put their toes in the water to begging to dive for toys in the deep end!
